about acanthi

acanthi is a small web design, documentation, and training business. We maintain this website as our resume and portfolio of samples to show clients. Since acanthi is a home-based business, the company name comes from a favorite Matisse poster that hangs in our office. The print is an abstract cutout of an acanthus plant. Acanthus is also an architectural term that describes the design used on the capitals of Corinthian columns. What a perfect name for an *information architecture* firm! The last step was a Web address. Although *acanthus* was taken, the plural acanthi was available.

design approach

1. Start with user and task analyses as the cornerstones of the design process.

2. Work closely with clients to define user profiles, requirements, and scenarios through interviews, usability inspection methods, rapid prototyping, story boards, demos and reviews.
